Swimming Injuries

Swimming pool accidents happen all the time with thousands of people being either injured or killed each year. Also each year is the near-drownings that will leave both adults and children permanently disabled.  It is the premises liability law that covers almost all accidents that happen in swimming pools. The property owner has a legal duty to keep his pool safe and in healthy standards whether it is a resort, hotel, park pool, school pool, neighborhood pool area or a home owner’s private pool.

For those who do not adhere to these rules, they can be held liable to personal injury claims. Swimming pool accidents happen from factors like: a fence around the pool that is inadequate, the supervision of the children is poor, no lifeguards, pool drains that are not enclosed and too many people in the pool at once.

Other factors are a pool deck that is slippery, lifeguards that are not properly trained, malfunction of the diving board, alcohol around the pool area and cloudy water the does not allow the lifeguard to see properly. Injuries that happen around or in a pool can be overwhelming so if this has happened to someone you know, contact an experienced premises liability attorney.
